You want a ✓ checkmark in your document but it's not on the keyboard. You want a ♥ for a social media post but can't find it in your input method. Your math notes need ≈, ∞, and ∑, so you end up searching for each one online just to copy it…
These small frustrations come up every day — and one tool handles all of them. Toolshu's Special Symbols Library collects thousands of special characters across dozens of categories, with a search box at the top. Type a keyword, click a symbol, it's copied.

What Categories Are Included?
Symbols are organized by category with a navigation panel on the left. Commonly used sections include:
Everyday use: Common symbols, arrows (↑↓←→↗↘ and all directions), check marks (✓✗), hearts (♥❤♡), stars (★☆✦), brackets, quotation marks, currency symbols ($€£¥₩)
Study and work: Math symbols (±×÷≈≠∞∑∏∫√), fractions (½¼¾), superscripts and subscripts, Greek letters (αβγδπ), unit symbols, phonetic symbols
Decorative and creative: Floral symbols, curly ornaments, bullet journal symbols, weather symbols (☀☁☂❄), music symbols (♩♪♫♬), geometric shapes
Chinese-specific: Chinese punctuation, Chinese uppercase numerals (壹贰叁), Chinese chess symbols, Mahjong symbols
Other: Copyright marks (©®™), chess symbols, playing card suits (♠♥♦♣), animal symbols… with new categories added regularly.
The Fastest Way to Use It
Searching is much faster than browsing categories. Type a keyword — in Chinese or English — into the search box at the top of the page:
- Type
arrow→ all directional arrow symbols - Type
star→ star and star-shaped symbols - Type
math→ mathematical symbols - Type
copyright→ copyright-related marks
Find what you want, click it, it's copied. Paste anywhere.
Where Can You Use These Symbols?
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Notepad, WeChat, social media, newsletter editors… anywhere that accepts text input.
One caveat: a small number of newer Unicode characters may display as a square box on older devices or with unsupported fonts. If you're unsure, test on the recipient's device before sending.
How Is This Different from the Emoji Library?
Toolshu also has an Emoji Library (https://toolshu.com/en/emojiall) — that one covers colorful emoji characters that render as pictographic icons on supported platforms.
This Special Symbols Library contains Unicode text characters — monochrome, no color. They're better suited for formal documents, annotations, and typesetting, and won't unexpectedly turn into emoji images depending on the platform. The two tools complement each other.
