Tool Introduction

Online Audio Trimmer is a browser-based audio editing tool for cutting the exact clip you need from a recording, song, podcast, lecture or meeting audio. Once a file is loaded you see its waveform — drag the selection edges or type the start and end times to trim, then preview the result, download it individually, or export everything as a ZIP archive.

Key Features

  • Waveform selection: every loaded file is rendered as a waveform with the whole track selected by default. Drag the highlighted area or the handles to adjust the range, and the start and end times update as minutes:seconds.milliseconds.
  • Millisecond-accurate time input: instead of dragging, type the start and end values directly when a cut has to line up precisely, such as from 01:23.50 to 02:05.00.
  • Batch trimming: drop several audio files at once, set a separate range for each one, and process them in sequence with all results listed together.
  • Format conversion: keep the original format or output MP3, WAV, AAC, M4A, FLAC or OGG to fit different devices and platforms.
  • Volume and channel control: scale the volume from 25% to 300% and switch between stereo and mono while trimming.
  • Sample rate and bitrate: choose a sample rate from 8000 to 96000 Hz and a bitrate from 64 to 320 kbps or automatic. Lossless formats clearly indicate that bitrate does not apply.
  • Metadata stripping: optionally remove tag information from the output for a cleaner file.
  • Preview and batch download: play any result in place, download clips one by one, or save all of them in a single ZIP file.

Use Cases

  • Cutting sound bites, lecture highlights and meeting points out of long recordings.
  • Making ringtones, notification sounds or short background music clips.
  • Trimming podcasts, audiobooks and voice-over material to remove silence or filler.
  • Cutting music to a fixed length for social media sharing.
  • Normalizing format and parameters across a batch of audio files before archiving.

How to Use

  1. Click the upload area or drag audio files onto the page; multiple files are supported.
  2. Drag the edges of the selection on the waveform, or type the start and end times.
  3. Pick an output format at the bottom, and open Advanced settings to adjust volume, channels, sample rate, bitrate or strip metadata.
  4. Click Start Trimming and watch the progress bar while each file is processed.
  5. Preview the results, download individual files, or use Download All (ZIP) to save everything at once.

Tips

Pull the start and end points in slightly to keep a few tens of milliseconds of margin so words are not clipped. MP3 at 128 to 192 kbps is clear enough for sharing, while WAV or FLAC suits further editing and higher fidelity. Before batch processing, check every file's range so none of them is left with the default full-length selection.

FAQ

Q: Are my audio files uploaded to a server?

A: No. Reading, trimming and exporting all happen locally in your browser, nothing is uploaded, and the data is cleared when you close the page — download your results first.

Q: Which formats are supported?

A: You can import MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, AAC, M4A, WMA, APE, OPUS and AIFF. Output can keep the original format or be converted to MP3, WAV, AAC, M4A, FLAC or OGG.

Q: Why does a file show no waveform?

A: Browsers cannot decode every audio format. Files that fail to parse are transcoded first and then rendered; if it still fails, the file may be damaged or protected, so convert it to a common format and try again.

Q: Can one audio file be cut into several clips?

A: Each file currently supports one range. To extract several parts from one recording, add the same file multiple times and set a different range for each copy.

Q: Does it work on mobile devices?

A: Yes. Open the page in a mobile browser, upload audio, drag the selection and download the clips; the layout adapts to narrow screens.
