Securely hide text information in images to protect your private data
Stego image preview area
Click the upload area or drag and drop an image. JPG, PNG, and ICO formats are supported. PNG is recommended as its lossless compression preserves hidden data reliably.
Type the text you want to conceal in the input box. Chinese and special characters are supported. The maximum character capacity for the selected image is shown in real time — do not exceed it.
Choose Basic or Advanced (encrypted) mode — Advanced offers stronger security and supports original format and transparency. Click "Encrypt & Hide" to generate the steganographic image below.
Click "Download Image" to save the result. It looks identical to the original and can be shared normally. Use lossless transfer channels to avoid platform compression corrupting the hidden data.
Upload the steganographic image, switch to the "Decrypt & Extract" tab, and click the extract button to reveal the hidden text. Note: Basic and Advanced modes are incompatible — both parties must use the same mode.-->
The Image Steganography Tool is a free online utility based on the principles of steganography. It allows you to secretly embed any text message into an image's pixel data, leaving the image visually unchanged — the hidden content is completely invisible to the naked eye. Only someone using the same tool can extract the concealed message, making it ideal for covert communication and privacy protection.
Steganography is the art and science of hiding information within a carrier medium such as an image, audio, or video file. Unlike encryption — which transforms data into unreadable ciphertext — steganography conceals the very existence of the message. Image steganography typically uses the Least Significant Bit (LSB) technique, modifying the smallest bits of each pixel to store data, resulting in changes that are imperceptible to human vision.
No, the images look identical to the naked eye. Only tiny, imperceptible changes are made to pixel values, so the overall appearance, color, and detail of the image remain the same.
Basic mode is free and outputs a standard PNG. Advanced mode applies an additional encryption layer for stronger security, supports the original file format, and handles transparent backgrounds. The two modes use incompatible algorithms — always use the same mode for both embedding and extraction.
Use caution. Many social platforms re-compress or convert images upon upload, which may destroy the embedded data. It is recommended to share the image through lossless file transfer methods instead.
JPG, PNG, ICO and other common formats are supported for upload. PNG is strongly recommended since it is a lossless format, ensuring the hidden data is preserved without degradation from compression.
