In some regions, particularly China, map service providers often do not directly use the global WGS84 coordinate system (e.g., raw coordinates from GPS devices) due to data security and standardization. They employ encrypted or offset coordinate systems like GCJ-02 (also known as Mars Coordinates) or further transformed systems like BD-09 (Baidu Coordinates). This tool is designed to help users accurately and conveniently perform online coordinate conversion between these common geographic coordinate systems.

How to Use This Coordinate Converter Tool?

Which Coordinate Systems Are Supported?

This tool currently supports mutual conversion between the following three commonly used coordinate systems:

• WGS84 (World Geodetic System 1984): This is the standard coordinate system used by the Global Positioning System (GPS) and is the universally accepted geographic coordinate reference system.
• GCJ-02 (Mars Coordinates): An offset coordinate system mandated by the Chinese State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, widely used in mainland China by services like AutoNavi (Gaode Maps) and Tencent Maps. All officially published map products in China must use at least GCJ-02.
• BD-09 (Baidu Coordinates): A coordinate system derived by Baidu Maps through a further encryption and offset of GCJ-02, exclusively used for Baidu Maps related services.

Specific conversions include: WGS84 to/from GCJ02, and GCJ02 to/from BD09.
